Longest-serving member of the current LBUSD Board of Education. First elected November 2014; re-elected November 2018; re-elected unopposed in November 2022 — eleven-plus years of continuous service through May 2026. Served as Board President during 2025 and was elected Board Clerk at the December 11, 2025 reorganization on a 3–2 vote. Career educator with more than three decades in teaching and other roles in the educational field before joining the board. In December 2019, while a sitting trustee, she filed a federal §1983 civil-rights complaint (Perry v. Viloria et al., Case No. 8:19-cv-02381-DOC-JDE, C.D. Cal.) against Superintendent Jason Viloria and the four other sitting trustees, alleging First Amendment retaliation, due-process, and equal-protection violations; the suit was dismissed three times in 2020 and Perry filed a Ninth Circuit appeal (Case No. 20-56081). The Woman's Club of Laguna Beach named her Woman of the Year in 2022 for her teaching career and community service.
